Assistant (Associate) Professor in Printmaking/Printmedia: Lafayette College
The Department of Art at Lafayette College seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of printmaking/printmedia to begin July 2017. Applications at the associate professor level will also be considered. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate studio and seminar classes at all levels and also direct Lafayette’s Experimental Printmaking Institute (EPI), a nationally recognized printmaking/printmedia studio and residency program that invites artists at all stages of their careers to engage with students and make innovative prints.
The Experimental Printmaking Institute (EPI) provides students and visiting professional artists with the opportunity to develop advanced skills in the areas of printmaking and digital imaging. Since its inception, the EPI visiting artist and artist-in-residence programs have introduced students to over 60 professional artists from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. These artists have provided students with talented, well educated,and ambitious role models and their residences at EPI have resulted in the creation of new print editions, experimental works, and a number of artists’ books.
We are seeking an inspiring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic artist/educator who interprets print media and its related disciplines broadly, and who demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level with a desire to work in a liberal arts environment that promotes interdisciplinary teaching and working collaboratively. Lafayette College and the Art Department are looking for candidates who will contribute to the diversity of the campus by bringing new perspectives and experiences to campus intellectual life.
