Assistant Professor of Art + Design, Colby-Sawyer College
The Department of Fine+ Performing Arts at Colby-Sawyer College seeks an energetic, forward-thinking colleague with versatile art-making skills to join us in our newly built Center for Art+ Design (which opened in fall 2017). The ideal candidate will be an active practitioner who works across various visual media and is qualified to teach in two or more of these studio areas: 2D (Painting and/or Printmaking); 3D (Jewelry/Metals and/or Sculpture); 4D (Animation/Motion and/or Interactive); Foundations (Design and Digital Media).
Required qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts or equivalent terminal degree, evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level, and a philosophy of education consonant with Colby-Sawyer’s programs and mission.
This is a full-time, 3-5-year visiting position that includes teaching and advising at the undergraduate level, studio management, and departmental and college service responsibilities. All full-time faculty are expected to contribute to the college’s liberal education program. This position begins in late August 2018.
