Assistant Professor of Studio Arts, Tenure-Track, NYU
New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Studio Arts to begin in September 2018. The appointed faculty member will be part of the Department of Art and Art Professions. Research focus in the area of Studio Art, including research focusing on interdisciplinary practices within ceramics and sculpture practices.
Conduct research; teach ceramics courses in an interdisciplinary curriculum; advise undergraduate and graduate students; supervise theses; develop and implement innovative courses; exhibit professional work; participate in faculty meetings, on committees, and provide other service to the University.
Candidates must have a PhD or an MFA; clear record of, or potential to develop significant research and publications record within the field of visual arts; extensive local, national and international networks; familiarity with current issues and trends in art and culture; expert knowledge of technical and conceptual history of ceramics as well as its contemporary application and critique; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in scholarship and teaching.
