The School of the Arts at Purchase College, SUNY seeks candidates for the position of Dean of the School of the Arts, with a term to begin in August of 2018. The appointment will be a Management/Confidential (non-bargaining unit) position with the State of New York, with a full benefits package, and a salary commensurate with experience of the chosen candidate.
The positon is one of two academic Deans for the campus (the other being the Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences), and oversees four academic divisions (Art+Design, Dance, Music, & Theatre Arts) as well as the degree programs in Arts Management as well as in Entrepreneurship in the Arts.
Approximately half of the undergraduate and a majority of the graduate degree seeking students are within the School programs. The two academic Deans work together with the faculty & staff in both areas, as well as with each other, the staff of the Provosts Office, and staff in other sectors of the College, to deliver the academic mission of the Campus.
