The Ragdale Foundation seeks a Director of Development at a pivotal and exciting moment in its long and rich history. The Director of Development will work with Ragdale’s new Executive Director to launch a capital campaign, build and grow the annual giving program, and secure increased sponsorships for events, education programs, and artist fellowships. The Director of Development will oversee one part-time position and a grant-writing consultant.
About the Ragdale Foundation:
The Ragdale house was designed in 1897 by Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw as a family summer retreat, one that would become a haven for several generations of artists from many disciplines. Shaw’s granddaughter created the Ragdale Foundation in 1976, turning the home into a nonprofit artists’ community. Now in its 44th year, Ragdale annually welcomes more than 200 authors and artists of multiple disciplines through residencies, fellowships, and thematic collaborations to its five-acre campus, giving them the time and space to advance their creative work. Ragdale’s commitment to community engagement, cultural equity, and arts education underpins dozens of public projects each year as well as the Ragdale In Schools programs.
