International Summer Courses – Printmaking and Textile Art (PATA)
For the 8th time the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź, Poland in cooperation with International Art Centre KAUS Urbino cordially invites artists and art enthusiasts to take part in the International Summer Courses – Printmaking and Textile Art (PATA). Its seven successful editions brought to Łódź artists from over 40 countries including Italy, the USA, Canada, China and the Republic of South Africa and were met with great enthusiasm. The offer of the eighth edition of the courses addressed to both beginning and experienced artists is divided into two parts. As always, the didactic offer includes interdisciplinary courses: a course of comics and game and film pre-production and a handmade paper course.
Between the 15th and 29th of July 2020 PATA participants will have an opportunity to gain new experience in fields such as textile print on prof. Krystyna Czajkowska’s course, experimental, intaglio and relief printmaking on a course run by prof. ASP Alicja Habisiak-Matczak and handmade paper on dr. hab. Magdalena Soboń’s course.
Between 3rd and 15th of August 2020 course participants will delve into the secrets of lithography, and intaglio printing with dr Tomasz Matczak, collagraphy, relief and screen printing with dr Paweł Kwiatkowski, and traditional textile art and experimental batik with prof. Zygmunt Łukasiewicz.
This year for the fourth time we also offer a comics and game and film pre-production course with prof. Gabriel Kołat.
Łódź Academy, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2020, has always been an important reference point both in Poland and abroad for all those interested in graphic and textile art.
Each single course comprises 90 didactic hours which entitles participants to receive 3 ECTS credits. At the end of each session an international exhibition of participants’ works – ‘Final Show’ is organized.
