Lecturer of Printmaking, Limited Term Faculty, Valdosta State
General Summary of Responsibilities
Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in printmaking; including intaglio, silkscreen, lithography, relief, and alternative printing processes. Teaching foundations design and drawing courses for majors, with the potential for teaching courses for non-art majors in the Core curriculum, such as art appreciation or global perspectives. Typical teaching load is 3-4 courses per semester.
Responsibilities also include standard service duties such as facilities and resource management, program development, student advising, as well as participation on department, college, and university committees.

MFA in Printmaking by July 31, 2017. Proficient in traditional and contemporary practices, with an ability to combine conceptual and technical aspects of the discipline. Ability to teach courses outside of printmaking such as studio foundations/design. Ability to work and comply with University and Departmental health and safety policies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Successful candidate will be required to complete a full background check. Preferred Qualifications
Ability to maintain studio facilities, inventory and order materials and equipment, and plan for growth in the printmaking facilities. Demonstrate excellence in teaching in higher education. Experience with student mentorship and advising. Ability to oversee student assistants. Evidence of contributions or service to the development of current or previous department and or university. Strong record of creative work, exhibitions, or scholarship with an ongoing contribution to the discipline. Physical Requirements
Ability to maintain and service all aspects of the comprehensive Printmaking facility.
Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
