Located about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mohave Community College is a comprehensive community college serving Mohave County in the northwest portion of the State of Arizona and its neighboring communities in California, Nevada and Utah. Currently seeking individuals to instruct Ceramics.
In addition to traditional on-ground classroom teaching, Mohave Community College meets the needs of our students by offering evening, on-line and hybrid courses of instruction. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare classroom presentations and student assignments.
Prepare course syllabi, which includes course requirements, attendance requirements, grading criteria and office hours to students in writing.
Keep grade and attendance records and prepare required reports consistent with college policy; submit grade reports to the Registrar, as directed. Requires technology skills sufficient to operate a Learning Management System in order to meet all reporting deadlines as prescribed by college policy and procedures.
Attend adjunct faculty meetings as scheduled.
Learn and correctly apply college policies and procedures.
Carry out assigned responsibilities in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes and the college’s philosophies, policies, procedures and regulations.
Perform teaching duties and work non-traditional hours, as needed.
Demonstrate a commitment to student academic success and adult learning concepts.
Remain current in practices, trends and research related to areas of specialization or assignment.
Adhere to class schedules. Meet attendance standards and work additional hours, as needed.
Maintain confidentiality relating to student matters.
Participate in college, campus and department evaluation processes.
Interact constructively with resident faculty.
Be available for student interaction
Applications for Adjunct Faculty Pool are accepted year-round. However, at times, recruitment for specific disciplines may be posted separately.
Applicants must meet education and/or experience minimum qualifications as indicated:
Master’s Degree in ART
Master’s Degree in any field AND 18 graduate hours in ART
teaching experience at the college level in ceramics
It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide the necessary documentation to support eligibility for the discipline(s) areas the applicant is interested in being considered.
Unless there is a specific and urgent need, Mohave Community College will NOT contact applicants when insufficient documentation is provided.
Applicants qualified for the applicant pool will remain active for 12 months. After 12 months, applicants not offered an assignment will be removed from the pool, without exception, and will need to submit a complete new application, including transcripts and/or letters of experience, to be re-added to the pool.

Associate faculty and their dependents are eligible for limited tuition waiver benefit at the in-state tuition rate. Associate faculty earn credits for credits taught up to a certain limit. These credits may be assigned to eligible dependents in the term in which they are earned.
Associate faculty are also eligible and encouraged to participate in professional development activities offered by the college.
