SUMMARY: The NASAD accredited Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Printmaking in a Tenure-Track position. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of various traditional and innovative printmaking techniques and the ability to teach all levels of undergraduate study. The successful candidate will be familiar with the history of printmaking, as well as contemporary critical issues in the field with an understanding of related interdisciplinary practices. Candidates with demonstrated teaching interests including (but not limited to) the intersections of fine art and graphic art printmaking processes, digital technologies, social practices, interdisciplinary coursework, senior experience, and professional practices are highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include teaching 3 studio courses per semester in printmaking and other courses offered by the department as determined by candidate’s qualifications; professional development; service to the university and community; advising students; curriculum development.
Teaching may include online, face to face, and hybrid instruction; face to face instruction may include day, evening, and weekend as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: MFA in Printmaking, Studio Art, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Three years of college level teaching experience beyond graduate teaching assistantship
*Demonstrated proficiency in advanced printmaking techniques.
*Substantial record of achievement in art and/or design field and an active exhibition record
*Experience advising students in an academic setting
*Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urban student population including (but not limited to) students of color, LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English-language learners
*Experience teaching both fine art and innovative printmaking techniques that support cross disciplinary engagement with other areas (painting, photography, design, art education, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry metals)
*Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse urban student population including (but not limited to) students of color, LBGTQIA students, students from low-income backgrounds, first-generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non-traditional students, student veterans, and English language learners.
