In this mini bookbinding workshop, participants will learn to make zines by folding a sheet of paper into a book. Content can be added and the zines can be photocopied and traded with friends or distributed at events. This is an ongoing activity that participants can join at any point during the event hours.
Zines are small books that are often quick and inexpensive to create. They are perfect for Protest Art. Zines were big in the punk scene of the 80’s and 90’s and continue to be used as a means of disseminating art and information. They come out of the tradition of the democratic multiple, meaning that they should be easily accessible by anyone who wishes to make or read one.
