This panel invites proposals from Cuban and Cuban-American print artists, artists from other nations who have worked in printmaking ateliers in Cuba, faculty who run printmaking study abroad trips to Cuba, and scholars or curators working on Cuba related printmaking projects. The goal of the panel is to share examples of Cuban printmaking with American printmakers, and to connect Cuban and American colleagues, who may be working unaware of one another and who would benefit from collaboration. The proposer recognizes the challenge of representing the many different voices, approaches, and viewpoints surrounding Cuban printmaking, especially given the difficulty of obtaining travel visas at this time. Exposure to the Cuban art scene, however, has been limited for many American artists who might benefit from this cultural exchange.
