Curated Open Portfolio

The Curated Open Portfolio offers printmakers a focused opportunity to share their work directly with invited curators, collectors, and gallerists. Selected artists present their portfolios in an intimate viewing environment designed to foster meaningful connections, conversation, and potential professional opportunities. Printmakers apply to participate for a fee.

The event is ideal for graduate students, mid-career printmakers, and artists seeking gallery representation or greater visibility within museum collections.

How to apply

Applying is free. Accepted applicants will pay a $50 fee that will be added to your form when you register for the conference. Applicants will be juried by members of the Collector’s Panel based on a short written statement (one paragraph) and a single weblink to the artist’s portfolio on their website or social media. The selection process is designed to identify artists whose work and professional trajectory will benefit from participation in the Curated Open Portfolio event. To support emerging artists, two (2) spaces will be reserved for current graduate students and two (2) spaces for undergraduate seniors.

Please note: Space is extremely limited for the standard Open Portfolio. If selected for this event you will be unable to register for a standard OP session as well. 

What to expect
A small gathering of no more than 30 printmakers in a quiet room with ample time to mingle and liaise with invited guests. You’ll be given one table to show prints. Guests will be catered to with beverages and light canapes. SGCI will publish a small list of participants with your contact information for guests to takeaway with them, but we suggest you have additional information available.

Who will be in attendance?

Invitations have been sent to Carnegie Collector’s Club members, and regional directors, archivists, museum staff, gallerists, and independent collectors.
